Synopsis
Jack Waymon is a perpetually angry young man, bleeding money in New York City while trying to finish the novel he's been writing for a decade. By day, he barely holds down a gig at a dying rock magazine run by an editor who wants him dead. By night, he falls in with a brotherhood of degenerates who've turned the Brooklyn dive bar scene into their personal kingdom of drunken chaos and drug-fueled benders. Between bar fights, arrests, and beautiful women who vanish before dawn, Jack discovers that his rage might be the rocket fuel he needs to finish his mission, if it doesn't burn him alive first. When a chance encounter leads to an unlikely friendship with a business mogul, Jack's world cracks open in ways he never imagined.
A savage meditation on authenticity, friendship, and grabbing life by the balls. Raw, philosophical, and darkly hilarious, this is a Molotov cocktail of a novel that explores what happens when blind ambition meets manic insanity, and somehow finds transcendence in the wreckage.
